EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the 164 MW Bii Stinu wind farm by its Mexican subsidiary EDF EN Mexico.

The Bii Stinu wind farm is located in a very windy region of Oaxaca in southern Mexico where EDF EN Mexico already operates the La Mata Ventosa wind farm (67.5 MW). This new facility comprises 82 turbines with 2 MW in unit capacity provided by Spanish manufacturer Gamesa.

The wind farm is owned jointly by EDF EN Mexico and by the Mitsui&Co. Ltd group via its Mexican subsidiary MIT Renewables Mexico.

With the commissioning of this latest project, EDF Energies Nouvelles’ installed capacity in Mexico now stands at 231.5 MW gross, with another 160 MW currently under construction.
