EDF Energies Nouvelles commissions a 56 MWp solar power plant in Massangis – France

EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of Massangis solar power plant, with an installed capacity of 56 MWp, located in the Bourgogne region of France.

Located in the French Yonne department, the Massangis solar photovoltaic plant is equipped with around 700,000 next-generation “thin-film” photovoltaic panels manufactured by First Solar. The solar power plant generates the equivalent of the electricity consumption of around 26,000 people and avoid around 4,300 tonnes of CO2 emissions p.a.

Project initiated in 2010, this power plant was developed and built by EDF EN France and has been commissioned in successive phases since Spring 2012. It will be operated and maintained by EDF EN Services, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles.

The newly commissioned Massangis photovoltaic power plant completes EDF Energies Nouvelles’ generating portfolio in France.
