Continuing the roll-out of its solar energy operations in the United States, EDF Energies Nouvelles is announcing the commissioning of the Lepomis and Lancaster power plants by its local subsidiary EDF Renewable Energy. Together these projects represent close to 12 MWp in total installed capacity.
The Lancaster solar power plant located 80 km from Boston comprises 19,000 photovoltaic panels representing 5.86 MWp in installed capacity. The electricity generated is supplied to the town of Billerica under long-term power purchase agreement.
The Lepomis solar power plant located close to Plymouth is equipped with 20,000 modules representing 5.99 MWp in capacity. The electricity generated is supplied to the town of Wareham under a long-term power purchase agreement.
EDF Renewable Services, the US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles group, will operate and maintain these two solar power plants over the long term.
These projects further the ambitions of the Group in solar energy with 350 MWp of projects developed in North America.
