Aramon

Following the closure of the Aramon thermal power plant,
the community of municipalities of the Pont du Gard has made
the choice to work on the economic revitalization of the
territory. In 2018, the agglomeration of the Gard-Rhodanien and
its main economic actors have entered into this
circular economy approach, with a key step finally
at the end of the year with the signature of the contract
of ecological transition, 3rd contract of this type signed in
France.

The Aramon solar power plant is a concrete example of this
new positive energy regional strategy. Installed in
the site enclosure of the thermal power plant under deconstruction,
it allows the revaluation of land and contributes to
the Energy Transition of the territory. In addition, this project will
was the subject of a fundraising campaign in 2018
participatory. 200,000 € was raised from
of the inhabitants of the Gard and the six neighbouring departments.
