The Blackspring Ridge Wind Project, located in Vulcan County north of Lethbridge, Alberta, is comprised of 166 Vestas V100-1.8 MW wind turbines. The renewable facility is co-owned at 50 % by EDF EN Canada along with Enbridge.
Since its commissioning in 2014, it remains the most powerful renewable facility in Western Canada (2018).
The facility generated 350 jobs during the construction phase. A total of 20 long-term jobs were created for Operations & Maintenance activities.
Blackspring Ridge wind farm supplies clean energy for approximately 140,000 homes.
