Commissioned during the same time than a similar wind park (Seuil de Bapaume) not far, La Plaine de l’Escrebieux wind farm, which has 12 MW in installed capacity, is located in the village of Lauwin-Planque in the Pas-de-Calais department. It is comprised of five 3MW Siemens wind turbines.
Annual output from the two wind farms will produce the equivalent of the electricity consumption of around 28,000 inhabitants.
Over 150 local jobs were involved in the construction phases.
These two new renewable energy facilities are jointly owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and Diamond Generating Europe, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.
